OUR STORY
Welcome to Village Tree Preschool
Every child deserves a place where they feel safe, loved, known, and inspired to grow. And every parent deserves to feel confident that their child is in caring hands.
I’m Jade Stanford, Founder of Village Tree Preschool. Our story began in 2004, during one of the most challenging seasons of our own family’s life. Through it all, the love and support of my husband, Robbie, and our two children helped turn a difficult time into a lifelong passion and purpose.
While Robbie was undergoing intensive medical treatment, I experienced first hand how difficult it can be for families facing serious health challenges to find childcare that is not only dependable, but truly compassionate and understanding.
With a background in early childhood education, I opened a small in home preschool with a simple purpose: to create the kind of nurturing, flexible environment I wanted for my own family and for other families who needed the same kind of support.
What began as a small program grew into something I could never have imagined.
Today, more than 20 years later, Village Tree Preschool has grown into a trusted community, serving children and families throughout Culver City and West Los Angeles. We now have three beautiful schools, conveniently located within just five blocks of one another in West Los Angeles, near Downtown Culver City.
Having three schools so close together allows families to move seamlessly with their children from one stage of early childhood to the next, while remaining part of the Village Tree family. For our parents, this means convenience, continuity, and the comfort of knowing that as their child grows, they don’t have to start over somewhere new. Their child can continue growing with teachers and a community they already know and trust, all in a convenient location close to home, work, and the heart of Culver City.
Along the way, our commitment to high quality early childhood education and exceptional care has been recognized by PBS, the California State Senate, and the United States Senate.
But the recognition that means the most to us is much simpler:
It’s the child who runs through our doors excited to see their teacher.
The parent who leaves feeling confident and at peace.
The family who knows they are not just enrolled in a school. They are part of a community.
At Village Tree, we believe the early years should be filled with wonder, connection, discovery, and joy. We want children to feel confident exploring the world around them, developing meaningful relationships, and discovering who they are.
And while we welcome all families, our founding mission remains close to our hearts: to provide loving, flexible, high quality care for families navigating chronic or serious illness.
Because we know that sometimes a family needs more than childcare.
They need understanding.
They need flexibility.
They need someone in their corner.
We believe that when we care for a child, we care for the whole family.
For more than 20 years, we have had the privilege of watching children grow, welcoming generations of families, and becoming part of the stories that make each family unique.
We would be honored to become part of yours.
Welcome to Village Tree.
Where children are loved, families are supported, and every child has room to grow.
One family at a time.
With gratitude,
Jade
